AMARO AVERNA is an excellent Italian liqueur based on an ancient recipe developed in 1868. The drink’s composition includes the highest quality alcohol, sugar, and various herbs that bring a unique aroma to the bouquet of liquor. All the ingredients used to create the drink are carefully tested, guaranteeing the naturalness of the liqueur, which is now recognizable and loved in many countries worldwide.
The liquor is produced by the Fratelli Averna company, whose history dates back to 1802 – it was then that Salvatore Averna was born into the family of wealthy textile merchants. This man, who was the Magistrate and Patron of the Abbey of St.Spirito, was one of those who managed to find out the secret recipe for a monastic liquor that has a unique taste, as well as healing and tonic properties. In 1868, Salvatore began to make a drink and treated them only to his guests, and by 1895, thanks to Averno’s son, Salvatore Jr., the Sicilian liqueur became widely known in the world.
