The Kilbeggan distillery was built in 1757 in the heart of Ireland. It has been known for a long time, along with the distilleries «Tirconnell», «Inishawn», «And docks». Matthias MacManus founded the distillery in 1757. As a talented businessman, he managed to keep the business even in 1798, in which there was a significant uprising and, as a result, political instability in the country developed. Nevertheless, the quality of products remained unchanged in all these difficult times until the era of the «dry» law. A slight decline marked the next period, but competent leadership and management changed the situation, restoring and even increasing the quality of the whiskey. But in 1957, the distillery was closed. In 1988, the production of Kilbeggan was taken over by the Cooley distillery. The Kilbeggan brand was revived, a new, attractive packaging design was developed, and in 1994 Kilbeggan whiskey took a solid and successful position in the market.
