«Aperol» is the perfect aperitif, created in 1919 by the Barbieri brothers. Aperol production is based on an ancient secret recipe using tinctures from selected ingredients – sweet and bitter oranges, herbs, and roots (including gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona fruits) in a perfectly balanced proportion. The peculiarity of the drink’s unique taste lies both in the original slightly bitter fruit shades and in the low alcohol content (only 11 degrees, which is half as much as, for example, in Campari aperitifs). The bright orange color of «Aperol», which gives the drink the use of natural orange concentrate – a kind of trademark of the aperitif, has remained unchanged for almost a century. Since the 1950s, based on the Aperol aperitif, the famous Aperol Spritz cocktail has been created, which, in addition to the aperitif, contains white Venetian wine (sometimes replaced with sparkling Prosecco, spumante, or champagne) and soda water Spritzer (or other mineral water with gas).
The aroma of the aperitif is characterized by tones of orange and bright notes of herbs, the taste of the aperitif is fruity and bitter, with notes of oranges, herbs, and quinine.
