Badagoni Wine Company – Where Tradition Meets Innovation
Founded in 2002 in the picturesque village of Zemo Khodasheni (Akhmeta region, Kakheti), Badagoni Wine Company has grown into one of the brightest names in Georgian winemaking. The winery is nestled in the heart of Georgia’s wine country — the Alazani Valley — where centuries-old traditions thrive in every cluster of grapes.
Badagoni honors its ancestral heritage by blending ancient winemaking techniques with modern innovations. Grapes are harvested exclusively by hand, carefully separated from the stems, and gently pressed to preserve the integrity of the seeds — ensuring that every drop of wine reflects the authentic taste of Georgian soil.
The company operates two state-of-the-art wineries: one in Zemo Khodasheni (Akhmeta region) and another in Manavi (Sighnaghi region). Both are equipped with cutting-edge technology and meet strict ISO standards. In fact, Badagoni is the only winery in Georgia to hold an international ISO quality certification.
Badagoni wines have earned global recognition, receiving numerous awards at prestigious international competitions such as the Decanter World Wine Awards, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, IWSC (UK), Challenge International du Vin (France), and Vinagora (Hungary).
A crowning achievement came in 2018, when Badagoni Alaverdi Tradition was named among the Top 100 Wines of the World by the Sydney International Wine Competition.
