The Alazani Valley is the heart of Kakheti, one of the regions of Georgia. It was there, in 2002, that the Badagoni Winery (ბადაგონი, Badagoni Wine Company) was established – an Italian-Georgian enterprise for growing grapes and producing wine.
The company has achieved great success during its existence, producing wines from local grape varieties considered among the best in Georgia. The Badagoni company combined the fertility of the land of Kakheti with the latest winemaking technology. Every year, the winery produces 3 million bottles of Georgian wine, not just wine, but a sacred drink that incorporates all the best winemaking traditions and is made on the best modern equipment. This allowed Badagoni wines to enter the European market. At the Badagoni farm, the grapes are harvested in small boxes, after which the berries are separated from the ridges, and the juice is squeezed out. The grapes are kneaded so that the berries release juice, but the seed remains intact. Today Badagoni is a complex line of wines of the highest quality, created in the European style of organoleptic and at the same time preserving the ancient traditions of Kakhetian winemaking.
The company’s famous wines are Kindzmarauli, Alazani Valley, Pirosmani, Khvanchkara, and others.
Badagoni’s awards and achievements include various medals, diplomas, and certificates. For example, repeated victories at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and Grand Prix at the Decanter-2010 competition.
It should also be noted that Badagoni’s wine is the only Georgian wine that has a European ISO quality certificate.
