Mottura Vini del Salento is one of the most renowned wineries in southern Italy, located in the heart of Apulia, in the Salento region, where the sun, sea, and wind create ideal conditions for growing grapes. The winery was founded in 1927 by Pasquale Mottura, and it has remained a family-run business passed down through generations.
From the very beginning, Pasquale’s goal was to unlock the potential of local indigenous grape varieties such as Negroamaro, Primitivo, and Malvasia Nera, and to produce wines that reflect the character and soul of Salento.
In the 1980s and ’90s, the winery began to modernize significantly, incorporating the latest technology while maintaining deep respect for tradition. Great attention was paid to the quality of the grapes, the fermentation process, and the aging of the wine. It was during this time that Mottura began receiving its first international awards.
Today, Mottura is a modern winery with more than 90 years of experience, exporting its products to dozens of countries around the world. Mottura wines are regularly recognized at international competitions, and labels like “Luca,” “Stilio,” and “Le Pitre” have become symbols of Italian winemaking.
